Earlier this year we became aware of a small security breach at Ubiquiti Networks. While working through Partner Channels, it was believed that the scope of this breach was very small and did not affect any clients. Ubiquiti Network Switches and Wireless Access Points are in service for several Client locations. However, recently we became aware that the scope of this breach has expanded significantly. Currently, there are no further statements from Ubiquiti on the matter, beyond the original announcement below.

    Original Announcement: Ubiquiti Email Announcement

While we still firmly believe this breach has not affected any clients, we have taken protective measures to prevent the possibility of malicious access to equipment that’s currently in service. For example:

    • All Automatic Software Updates for Ubiquiti Equipment have been Suspended
    • Changed Passwords on Ubiquiti Service Accounts
    • Confirmed Two Factor Authentication is Enabled on Ubiquiti Service Accounts
    • Management Software has Been Disconnected from Ubiquiti’s Cloud Services

We will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate actions. In the meantime, and as the situation develops, we will be certain to share any public information provided to us by Ubiquiti Networks.

As always, we are here to answer any questions you may have.
