You’re Concerned About Cybersecurity. At pute.us, Cybersecurity is Our Concern, Too
No matter what the situation in the world, security is always taken seriously at pute.us. A recent step has been partnering with cybersecurity firm Barracuda Networks, with continued service through SKOUT Cybersecurity. Barracuda Networks secures several large profile clients, including the Department of Homeland Security. They have a 24×7 Security Operations Center and has been advising pute.us in the implementation of products, services, and security measures to ensure our systems are secure.
Internally, password change policies are implemented, require multi-factor authentication, and hardware security keys lock down access. The Principle of Least Privilege is in place at pute.us, which means that if an employee does not need access to a specific tool or piece of information, they do not have access. In April 2022, physical access control at our office and warehouse will also be implemented to further prevent any unauthorized personnel from accessing pute.us locations.
pute.us and Your Facility
Managed Services Clients benefit from the following standardized security measures.
Antivirus Protection
Bitdefender Licenses are included and installed on all workstations unless a different protection suits the specific needs of a workstation. Keep an eye for a next-gen AntiVirus product we are working with Barracuda Networks to launch.
Data and Network Backups
Acronis Cyber Protection Cloud is included, with backups monitored daily, and integrated cyber protection that can help in the event of a security breach.
Patches and Updates
As part of prevention plans, regularly applied patches and updates close known security flaws against attackers infiltrating computers and networks. This is applied to workstations and servers.
Router/Firewall Security
The pute.us standard is CradlePoint routers, which have built-in Firewalls and can be licensed to provide next-gen Firewall features. These routers are routinely monitored to ensure no unnecessary exposure of your internal network.
How You Can Prepare
Best practices to prepare your facility and staff include implementing password change policies, for example twice yearly, and utilizing multi-factor authentication on products and services that offer it. This especially applies to sensitive accounts such as bank accounts, any account with a credit card on file, and accounts that contain important data.
